3M stands for Minnosota Mining and Manufacturing and was established in 1902 by five businessmen who set out to mine a mineral deposit for grinding-wheel abrasives.  Proving ill-fated, they quickly moved their focus to sandpaper products with great success.

Today 3M is a diversified technology company serving customers and communities with innovative products and services. Each of their six businesses has earned leading global market positions.  At Computaleta, we primarily distribute 3M products from the Display and Graphics business, although there are crossovers into Industrial Tapes and Adhesives.

“Computaleta are a great fit for us, with their regional warehousing they can support excellent customer relationships within each major city and indeed throughout the country.  Their team prides themselves on their high service levels, enabling customers throughout New Zealand fast access to quality 3M products.”  – Nick Minogue, 3M Display & Graphics Group.

ARLON was established in California in 1958 and has grown to be a worldwide organization with several manufacturing facilities and strategically positioned distribution warehouses.  Arlon is comprised of two business units Graphics Products and Engineered Coated Products, utilizing their expertise in polymer and adhesive chemistries for casting, coating, laminating and converting.

At Computaleta, we’ve been distributing Arlon films since 1981.  They were in fact some of the first films available in New Zealand for computer cut technology.  We specialize in Commercial & Electrical Signage and more recently, Print Technology films.

“Computaleta have always been at the forefront of the signage industry and are an extremely important partner for Arlon in the New Zealand market. Not only are they a brand driver, but they are a wonderful source of information and advice for the future development of product lines.” -  Andrew Johns, Director of Sales.

HEXIS was founded by Michel Mateu, who branched out from his family’s business making insulation for electric motors in 1989 with a vision of independence and €7600 in his pocket.  By 1994 he had increased his capital to €366,000, moved to a bigger factory and installed a new coating machine.  Two years later in 1996, Computaleta received our first container of HEXIS vinyl films.

Today Hexis manufactures a full line of graphic vinyl and digital printing media used for sign making and vehicle markings. The company is based in Frontignan, near Montpellier, France with subsidiaries in Germany, Italy, Spain and the United States and with affiliate Hexis companies in the Netherlands, Switzerland and the UK. The group exports some 40% of its sales to over 40 countries worldwide, with a consolidated turnover of EUR 43 million in 2009.
