At last! The boffins at 3M have come up with a perfectly clear cast printing film which will open up new ideas in glass design for designers, architects and sign and print creatives alike.

Scotchcal Clear View Printing Film 8150 is the first optically clear cast PVC printing film on the market. Optimized for wet application, it can be easily bonded to the glass whilst maintaining a perfect clear view through the glass in unprinted areas.

This combination of print and transparent surface means even tiny details can be shown and colour gradients easily reproduced. It even has a special PET liner to prevent static whilst installing, and has a special adhesive for easier removal later on (and we all know what a nightmare film removal from glass can be, so thumbs up)!

What is even more impressive is it can become a one-way vision film as well, which is often necessary on vehicle applications. This can be achieved without the need to perforate the film. One-way vision is achievable by simply printing a hole matrix, or perforated simulation, and voila!

What’s more it is highly conformable, which means easy installation of curved glass windscreens.
